No Small Upsets
There are no small upsets. They are all equally disturbing to my peace of mind.
Anytime we’re upset – no matter whether we consider it big or little – we’ve temporarily stepped out of our right mind. And in that moment we have thrown away peace.
The Course powerfully articulates this condition:
The degree of the emotion you experience does not matter. A slight twinge of annoyance is nothing but a veil drawn over intense fury.
Recognizing that a mild twinge of annoyance is no different than murderous rage, we can make a different choice to escape all pain. In the right mind of presence, there is only joy.
