Reality Is All In The Mind

All our experiences of external reality have nothing to do with what’s going on around us. They are solely a function of a choice in the mind.
~ Anthony Gold

Cogito, ergo sum. I think, therefore I am. René Descartes knew a thing or two about the human mind. Thoughts imply existence. In fact, all our experiences are completely defined by our thoughts. Emotions such as joy or sadness don’t result from external circumstances. Stuff happens in the world, which we then process with our thoughts, which then lead to the emotions we feel. No one and no thing can make us happy or sad. Only our thoughts drive our emotions.

Therefore, if we want to feel differently, all we need to do is change our thoughts. Easy to say, but hard to do. Actually, not hard – it’s just that we have so much resistance to believing that truth. However, once we change our thoughts, our entire world does indeed change.
