Vision Boarding

Some of your greatest advances you have judged as failures, and some of your deepest retreats you have evaluated as success.
~ A Course in Miracles

Are you where you’d like to be right now? Do you have a sense that what you are doing and how you are living aligns with your path?

So much has been written on goal setting, vision boarding, and manifesting a life you desire. But all that presupposes you are not where you should be.

The truth is that when we’re aligned with our ego, we will always believe there is more. We buy into the scarcity principle that says there is something missing in us. It might be improved health, increased wealth, stronger relationships, and so forth.

But we have no idea where we should be or how to truly evaluate our “progress”. This line from A Course in Miracles really helps put this in context: “Some of your greatest advances you have judged as failures, and some of your deepest retreats you have evaluated as success.” (T-18.V.1)

The ego will always misguide us.

However, when we step back and simply observe the ego (meaning, we’re now in the right mind of presence), then no matter where we are and what we’re doing – it’s exactly what we need to help us grow.

While there is nothing wrong with setting goals, creating vision boards, or anything else we think we desire – the key is to do them without an investment, without ego involvement. In fact, in every moment that we’re in our right mind, we are a channel for love doing whatever is most helpful for us and everyone around us. The peace we feel within embraces everyone and everything.

So our practice for today is to do all the normal things we do – but to try and observe our ego along the way. The more we do that, the faster we grow.
