What Do You See?

The question is not what you look at but what you see.
~ Henry David Thoreau

What do you see when you look out at the world? Do you see unfriendliness, sadness, fear? Or joy, warmth, and happiness?

The truth is that we experience what we want to experience. In the powerful words of A Course in Miracles, “I have given what I see all the meaning it has for me.”

When we project fear onto the world, we experience a fearful, cold world. Something to which we can all relate.

But when we instead reflect our true nature of love, we instead see warmth, beauty, and joy.

By considering Thoreau’s question honestly, we can make a different choice and thus see a transformed world.
